This is an early example of the oils pastel transfers that I do. In this case the piece on the right was laid atop the other and a burnishing tool or dulled pencil was used to apply pressure on the back of the piece, transferring whatever path the tool took onto the blank paper. This is a celebration of the balance of positive and negative, and that one cannot exist without the other. Of finding significance in things once discarded, finding good in unexpected places.
